Today I’ve been thinking about something that I really have no reason to think about for the next 60-odd years: retirement. More specifically, retirement homes.
I guess the reason why it’s on the brain is because during dinner last night my dad was saying something which I’ve retirement homes play music from the era of the residents. So, at the moment the hallways are filled with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Doris Day, etc.
It got us all talking about what the ideal time to live in a retirement home would be, based purely on the songs that will be played. I think it’ll be when Queen and Abba starts playing.
We also started thinking out loud about what will be played when our generation reaches retirement.
“Tick tock on the clock, but the party don’t stop …”
“I hate these blurred lines … “
Well, I guess we can take some comfort in the fact that it isn’t something we have to worry about for a while!
